Course Rules For Speed of Play

On busy days, Santa Teresa G.C. tees off two foursomes every 15 minutes. At this rate, it will take 4½ hours to complete a round if everyone keeps up with the group ahead. Some groups find it difficult to keep up, and as the day progresses, rounds take longer and longer to complete. In most cases, the players in the slower groups are not playing from tees that are appropriate for their skill level. In an effort to rectify this situation, we will insist that all players observe the following COURSE RULE:

If, at anytime you have fallen a hole behind the group ahead of you (and you are not at a pace to finish in 4½ hours), you must tee off from the Green Tees until you catch up. If this still doesn't work, move out to the Forward Tees positioned in the fairway. (We have 5 sets of tees on most holes).

Our Course Marshall will insure that all players are playing by these rules. We expect every player to play from Tees that will allow for a round of no more than 5 hours.
